    Cherry News Issue #2 D.I.Y Pin-up Photoshoot

There is something so exciting about a Pin-up photo shoot. For me it's the 1950's props, the gorgeous outfits, victory rolls, red lips and bringing out your inner pin-up.

The only problem I have is that I want to do it all. I want to set the scene, I want my hair and make up done, I have to wear the gorgeous outfits and I want to be photographed!

What's a girl to do? Do it all I say. It does take work but it's fun and worth it. Set up is key, you will need good lighting natural or professional. I use both sometimes I shoot outside sometimes in my little renovated studio. My house is very dark so I invested in some lighting and some plain backdrops. I also suggest to have some golden oldies playing to lighten the mood, I also find it helps me relax and bop around to the music. The props are defiantly important to really set the scene. Try finding some 1950's original pieces or replicas work well too. And have a theme in mind such as, 1950's house wife, 1950's Diner or borrow a friends Hot rod and shoot in a garage. The options are endless.

The thing I love most about Pin-up is that is about embracing the female figure curves and all. It really promotes health and confidence mentally and physically helping women to love themselves and their body. Get to know what suites you, what works for one lady might not work for the other. I have spent a lot of time practicing my hair and makeup and I'm still learning myself so play around at home or when you are going out. We would love to see your DIY Pin-up photos so share your images on our Facebook Page.
